Actually... yes. (*sighs*) :biggrin2:

It covered a lot of material that I just haven't been familiar with, so, much of it seemed to be going over my head. It's one that I thought maybe I'd give another go to... now that I've had much more exposure to some of the things he was talking about, it may be different for me now.

I understand . . .I found it boring.

It is so very rare for me to not finish a book. But I decided life is to short to keep reading one that I was so utterly board with.

So, I started the Book Thief. I had never heard of it, but just happened upon it. With two pages I was completely into it.

Don't hate me. I am still a fan of King's work. Just not this one book.
No hate here. I haven't read it, but from what I've heard its a bit different from what Sai King usually writes.

I really enjoyed this. Cried at the end too!! BUT...... we can't love everything he writes, that'd make us kinda sad if we blindly professed love for every single one of his written words. (Whispering) *I'm not a lover of the Dark Tower*. There, I said it out loud!!!!:my_bad:
I am. I love me some Dark Tower...in fact, they were the first King books I read, if memory serves.

I wasn't crazy about The Talisman or Gerald's Game. The Tommynockers wasn't a favorite either. So far, the only King book I've never finished is Nightmares and Dreamscapes, but that' not because I don't like it. Its short stories, so I read one now and again before returning to a novel. I'll finish it someday though! :)

And its funny, many people who like The Dark Tower books didn't care for Gunslinger, but loved Drawing. Me, I loved Gunslinger, but found Drawing to be my least favorite of the seven (I can't count Keyhole, 'cause--gulp--I haven't read it.)

For me, i loved Joyland and fully intend to buy the ebook version as well. The book i had to abandon was The Girl who loved Tom Gordon, so boring. I had to return to Dreamcatcher as I failed to get into it first time round. I now love that book, but nothing could make me attempt TGwlTG again.

I also found Lisey's Story a bit of a slog. Other than those, I enjoy everything else.

I agree, to a point, about The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I did finish it, likely because it was short. I didn't hate it, but it was kinda dull in places.

Try it again, it's pretty good. P.S the book thief is pretty good. but would recomment re-trying joyland. I am having problems with the talisman.

I also had trouble with The Talisman. I read about half of it then had to put it down for a while. I did like how it ended though.
