Cat's Eye is an anthology film, comprising 3 Stephen King stories. The first two are from his early collection Night Shift and the third is an original for this film. Quitters Inc is about an unorthodox method for stopping smoking, The Ledge is about an ordeal faced by a philandering tennis pro, and Cat's Eye itself is about a small girl menaced by a troll-like creature when she is asleep.
All three stories are very enjoyable, and satisfyingly realised on screen. They are perhaps a little slight in nature, but they were short stories rather than novels, and these half-hour adaptations suit them perfectly: none is inflated to anything beyond its actual significance. The cast is good, with James Woods as the beleaguered smoker getting my vote as favourite.
I recommend this.
