....I just saw this....he charted 21 Top 40 Hits and blended Country, Pop and some Rock to become one of the biggest entertainers on the scene...he outsold the Beatles in 1968!....Glen had his demons, but finally with much love and support, he was able to cast them out and once again become the man with the boyish grin who would holler out the oft lampooned "Hi, I'm Glen Campbell!"....his songs evoke such a strong emotional chord in me when I hear them-no matter which they might be....all I can hope is-he has now remembered all the faces that will be glad to welcome him in the clearing.....the time has come old troubadour to hang up the rhinestone suit....:(

After watching the Glen Campbell documentary last year it was inspiring to witness his extraordinary courage in the face of living with Alzheimer's. We have not only his musical legacy but the enduring spotlight and voice he gave to others fighting such a cruel disease.

That was such a wonderful documentary. Having watched MIL die from Alzheimer's and my dad suffered through something similar, though slightly different, parts of it were very difficult for me. But seeing his family supporting him warmed my heart.

He will be missed.

He was from Delight, AR about 20 miles from where I grew up Pike County. My dad worked on his mom's house installing phone lines way back when. He said she was a very nice lady who would bring all the worker guys lemonade just about everyday. He said she was so proud of Glen and talked about him all the time. RIP.

Glen was such a big part of my childhood. Every day after work, my dad would come in the living room, open the giant stereo and play an album while he relaxed and read the paper. Most often it was Glen Campbell. His voice is always a comfort to me. I especially like the way he and Anne Murray harmonized together. I learned a lot about singing and harmonizing from those two.

I will not be sad, I absolutely REFUSE to be sad, even though I knew this was coming over a year now. Even if he didn't have all those other songs, this one alone makes him immortal. We will miss you Glen, but we will never forget you.
