....Mary, I know we've had our differences of late-and I apologize for my part in the tension....if I can be of ANY assistance as far as helping ease your and Karen's mind about the little one, I would be glad to do so within the scope of my practice.....treatment should be with oxygen therapy as needed, and there are a number of antibiotics that will take care of the pneumonia.....success rates are quite high for a speedy recovery.....
Karen has the breathing treatment equipment. She has had it for years now.
Karen has Kat at the doctor's office right now to see what he decides to do after getting the test results back. Her oxygen level wasn't good either.
That poor baby has been through a lot today.
The doctor said her throat is fire red from all the coughing, and irritation.
Kat can't eat, and doesn't want to. She has had chicken broth, and is drinking tons of Gatorade (what the doctor said to give her)
Kaden got upset, and started crying when he heard that Kat may be going into the hospital.
Karen packed some clothes for both her, and Kat just in case.

....nothing more difficult than watching your child or grandchild be sick, and how helpless you are to take away the pain....however, she knows hom much you and Mom love her-and that in itself is some of the most powerful medicine ever....be patient and trust in the medical staff.....most of us really DO care about our patients.....

Kat will have 24/7. Watchful eyes. It is stressful on you and family, but better Kat be in a safe watchful place. Have an advocate close. Ask questions if necessary. Prayers will continue. May the treatment work well and quickly.

Karen just called. Kat is being transported to I.E. Dupont hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. That is a children's hospital.
She is in bad shape to move her there.

Look for the positives,pegasus216 . Kat will be in a specialized hospital with staff that are well aware of the needs of a child. Attract the positives. Manifest healing and quality care. My prayers are with you and Kat and family.

It is about 2 hours from us. Kat must be exhausted from all this. I know Karen is, because she has not gotten much sleep for the last 3 nights.

Just got a text from Sam. He is still at the hospital waiting for the ambulance to pick up Kat, and Karen to transport to A. I. Dupont. (Not I.E.)
He said it is mainly in her left lung, and they have given her 3 breathing treatments, and she is on oxygen.
They told Karen that they should be able to come home tomorrow.
As soon as I know more, I will let you all know.

Breathing treatments and oxygen both good!! Maybe a different antibiotic and a steroid? Sounds like her case is being handled aggressively, this is good.
