Got a short update from my dad a little bit ago. He said that they had not been to hospital yet today but that my stepmom's mom was showing some improvement last night.

...excellent news Kitter-Katter!.....Tracy's mom ended up not having the surgical procedure......she piddled around to long getting help(yeah, her daughter who knows her intimately and the son-in-law who's a nurse know nuttin'), so they elected to continue her on blood thinners and other meds because the risk outweighed the benefits basically....she should be discharged back home tomorrow and we will be keeping her under our thumb...I thank you all again for the positive vibes.....

I'm sorry to be so nosy but the former medical transcriptionist in me is intrigued. I have never heard of such a cancer. Maybe send me a PM if you don't want to put it here out in the open.
So sad they could not catch it in time. (That is how Andy ended up having such radical surgery on his tongue - he ignored the symptoms and hoped it would just go away on its own)

Wanted to mention prayers needed for Puerto Rico. They have had 2 large earthquakes this week. I sent a note to prufrock21 on Monday, but with the 2nd quake on Tuesday there was an island wide power outage. If anyone hears from him, please let us know!
