....though I never asked for positive vibes, some of them must have found me-and for that I'm grateful....I only confided in one special friend here, that I had been embroiled in an issue at work, which could have flushed 14 plus years down the drain.....someone set me up, and I could have lost my job.....that's all I will say....the investigation is complete, and I'm still working....just very disillusioned that there are people who thrive on disrupting someone's life like that.....
So glad everything went well. Being set up is awful. Co workers can always stir things up.

The Powers That Be sure were looking out for you, Scott. I'm glad that you still have your job. Hate the thought that you will have to deal with this troublemaker on a daily basis.

I have been dealing with a similar situation myself- last Thanksgiving I was privy to a conversation about two co-workers that are married to each other. It was stated in the conversation that these two people were being watched because they are constantly stopping their work and talking to each other. I thought that these two were my friends. I had been invited to their wedding last year (even was asked to be an usher!) and spent time together outside of work. I told them about overhearing this conversation about them being watched but wouldn't tell them who was talking about them. Well, that was the end of the 'friendship' and afterwards they would tell anyone that would listen that I was a liar and that 'you just don't know what Dan's capable of'. I get the dirty looks and the rude tone in their voice now when they have to say something to me, which is rare because I haven't spoken to them since anyway. It makes me feel awful that I tried to do something out of friendship and it all blew up in my face. But, at least I know what kind of people they really are and will never have anything to do with them again. I just ignore the situation as best as I can. They showed their true colors.

That is just so unfair to you. Attempting to help and getting berated for it. Friends like that are not needed in your life. You are a kind person, know that well.
