Do those keyless things get bumped? And your vehicle starts sounding off? Happens a lot at work...busy doing something, look up, what's what? Sounds like someone's car alarm. Bump it while working then you gotta dig it out, sling your nail apron around or try to dig in your pants pocket so you can hit the button. Mercedes probably doesn't have that happen. But then, I don't imagine too many carpenters are driving around to the job site in a Mercedes. Not a new one, anyway. Sounds like a cool system. So, what, someone bumps you on the back of the head, they walk up to your car, the car says, hop in! starts up. Bad guy drives away? Or is there something more? Would it work, say the bad guy has you slung over his shoulder, you have the fob in your pocket...would the handle open for him? Or is there some sort of...I dunno, recognition software installed?
My sister's car, a Renault Megane is keyless. She was at work and someone came in and said 'who's is that Megane out on the road? It's engine's been running all morning '

There was this once, I'm up in a hemlock tree bored to tears, truck is off through the bush about 200 yards, and I start fiddling with my key thing. Hmmm, wonder if it will do anything from this far? Hit a button...look through the leafless trees...nothing. Hit another. WAAA! WAAAA! WAAAAA! Bored no more! And then! The buttons decide NOT to work! I climb down the ladder I have set up, one OSHA would frown upon, so I use it for hunting...and I make my way toward the truck, all the while its moaning the blues. Finally got close enough, or something, hit the right button and she quieted down. Told the wife about it and she said you should have done that when you got lost out there. Yeah, that woulda worked, hey? Lights come on so forth so on.

Have you ever tried the thing where you walk away from your car until the remote won't work anymore. Put the fob against your head and try it, it works. Trust me this does work.

I'll have to remember that if I ever got lost out in the bush again. Was lost for about two hours, full dark, never thought to use the key to turn on the lights or the horn. I'll experiment this weekend.

I’m sorry, but Mr. Mercedes could not happen. We are told that a key was left “in the slot” in the car but those things don’t even have a place to put a key. I know, I have one. The MB. Keyless entry system works without you ever having to take the fob out of your pocket or purse. You walk up, touch the handle and it opens and the start button works. Walk away and it locks up again. MB takes care of you, you don’t have to do anything else. If a key had been left in the glove compartment surely the very thorough MB Techs would spot it on the frequent service sessions that come with it. I checked and the 05 S class definitely had that system. It was mentioned as a SL 550. But that only ever had 8 cyl. For 12 you have to go to a 660. MB only has letters and numbers, and its really confusing. If it was stolen, it would have to have lojack, If you have a loaded 100K car that pretty much has to be there. Why am I doing this? Well the story includes a device called “ Thing two” ( a Dr. Seuss reference) which can open any car. MB insists that there is no such thing, particularly for their S class. Can some bozo open my car? They say no.
By the way, the new robot manual seven speed dual clutch gearbox takes off like a jackrabbit.
I think I got a good car for my money.

Im sorry, I take it back. I got my info from the internet and no surprise, it was wrong. When I went In for routine maintenance real MB techs told me that the keyless entry didnt come in till 08. Before then they did have key slots, and if they had the key on them they might not notice a second one in the glove compartment. It MIGHT Happen.
As for the rest, well I finished the trilogy, and Brady seems to be some sort of voodoo legba. He is a powerful ghost who controls other ghosts and occasionally living people. Of course he can open any lock, not to mention cars.
One final question. What is the best vehicle to run down zombies? Some say Hummer, others think Cadillac escelade. I think MB might be too delicate.

This is what I would use for a wheeled zombie killer.images-4.jpeg
