was going to wait till after Christmas to post this thread, but I’m too excited. :)

As was discussed in the other thread, I am going to try reviving the group read discussions. I never actually moderated the old reads so this will be learning experience, for me. Should be fun... :)

I picked some titles I remember almost nothing about, ones I feel are perhaps overlooked in general.

Hehehe. I’ve read Dreamcatcher once, and it was after having wisdom teeth removed. So I was pretty stoned - lol. I don’t remember much of it.

I can't be the only one who really liked Dreamcatcher. C'mon, we have Duddits. The library files. The childhood friends grown up.

Don't think of the movie, if you have seen it. Which was pretty ok.. except for the eyebrow mishap.

The eyebrows are the only thing I can remember from the movie. ;-D

When the filming was over, I hope they donated the eyebrows to the Salvation Army. You could keep a couple of people warm with those things.

I'd be down for anything but Dreamcatcher (or another one of the "alien quartet"). I was thinking of re-reading starting with the newer books, myself. Every time I start at Carrie, a new book comes out before I get anywhere near finished reading first book to latest and I get distracted by that one, never to return to my re-read schedule (lol). I've read all of the early ones so many times that I can quote big chunks verbatim :), but I can only remember bare bones essentials of the newer ones.

I’m with you. So, really, I’m cool with any of the Scribner books.

I would read any of them but I voted for Hearts in Atlantis. When we did the group before, it was nice having a shorter thing to read. When we tried a full novel it was hard to find a group stopping point and folks who were slower readers got a bit lost when the fast readers started discussing things they hadn't got to yet.

Also, I would love to discuss this one with a diverse age group, because of the Vietnam angle. But again, I'm not that picky, so will follow the crowd!
