I just stumbled across this on Google...I didn't realize that Bag of Bones had been handwritten, I thought Dreamcatcher was the only one.

I like the little note for Ms. Mod!

So where'd these lines arrive in the finished story? Not chapter 3...or not the start of 3. Thumbed through the early pages of my copy...but I'm whipped.
It's the uncut version that ran to almost 3,000 pages. The publisher begged Steve to cut a few words out here and there as the book would be so heavy that it would have to be sold in the Fitness section at the bookstores across the lands and double as a barbell.

Oh okay here it is on page 45 in my USA paperback...check it out...a few word changes...and my first thought is, was that cause winter/fall/whatever would have been some sort of continuity problem...anyway...I like how after "Sara Laughs" there's another change...that anyone who wants to can check it and see. One of those small touches, an addition to the original...first draft?...now if I were to write something like that I'd sound like that woman in the movie, the one Clint Eastwood asked can't you get her to shut up? And really, that whole beginning to chapter 3...that is on page 45 as noted...there's quite a few changes...surprising how many changes there are as the hand-written copy reads fine...but it was tweaked.

He didn't write the entire thing by hand for this one but as Bev said, there have been quite a few that have parts of them handwritten for one reason or another. When he was in Bangor on a more full-time basis, he would have me then type those pages for him but now it would be too long to wait since we're not often in the same place at the same time so he just does it himself.
