Good point. Even SK's less than cherished books in my eyes are still good enough to get into and worth the time. Though, some are more challenging than others; Hearts In Atlantis, I'm looking in your direction. :upset:
Really? I Loved that book, one my absolute faves, even if we add the caveat that we’ only talking about steve’s work.

I enjoyed the girl who loved tom Gordon. my "least" favorite was the regulators. but I still enjoyed it. He is definitely not just a horror writer. I work at a bar and talk SK all night to anyone that listens. and recommend 11/22/63 to EVERYONE. Not one single person has complained about that story. one 65 your old man said that is the only "big" book he ever read.

Tom Gordon was its in own type of story and I liked it. I love IT. Lisey;s story, Insomnia and on and on and on....
Yeah, regulators was good but felt like was stuck in a kids tv show. Oh yeah it was Meant to be scary lol

I really don't believe that sK has a quota. I think his imaginative range is very broad, so that some fans don't get of his ideas because those ideas aren't their cut of sK tea.

As for The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, I thought it was brilliant. I really felt what the girl was going through. I could feel her fatigue, just as I could feel Garraty's in The Long Walk.
I just finished The Long Walk and had the same thought. The biggest impression I came away with from both books was fatigue, well put.

I agree. It would've been a fine short story. This one and Rose Madder felt forced. I didn't hate it but my patience was tested with this one.
I agree, I felt like a condensed version might have been more effective. I haven't re-read it, but I recently listened to the audiobook and felt like I loved the idea of the story, and its ending, but didn't enjoy the way it got there so much.
