I found this message board back in January of 2007 to say thank you to the man who wrote the stories I enjoyed...had gotten three novels from my wife for Christmas, '06: From A Buick 8, Bag of Bones, and Hearts in Atlantis.

After reading...an afterword, I think it was, in Bag of Bones, paperback copy, after reading the final sentence or two of that afterword by King, something about an up-coming (at the time) Hearts in Atlantis, and to tell him what you think about it. Sounded like an open invitation and with a website listed someone on the jacket, I found my way here.

There's probably been a time or two (you think?) when I regretted joining the board...and staying on after the initial post or two...the regret surfacing much later. That's enough for now. How about you? Have you ever regretted joining the SKMB?

Nope! This is a cool message board with some really great people, yourself included Walter.

Well since i joined this year just a few months back i'm, to young to have reached that stage yet. Maybe when i get old and cranky and have a mob after me running down an imaginery street in an isolated town shouting "We want you out of this cummunity!¤ That mob would be you, my friends. But until that happens i don't think i'm gonna regret it.:facepalm_smiley::grinning:

Never in life. Met some of the best, kindest, most sincere fellow SK fans in the world here. I’ve had better conversations and had more laughs than I had any right to here on the SKMB. We’re all gunslingers here, each bringing her or his unique character, mentality, and attitude to the board. Take all this combined with the mutually shared admiration of, and our respect for, Mr. King and you come realize this is a special place.

Maybe twice. Once when I first joined and a guy called Walter made some crack about me in an indirect way like 'he keeps coming...and going... and going."
The other was when King and his son, Owen, were on stage, and KIng made a joke about how he hoped that there were no people with hangovers in the audience, and I knew King was making reference to something I had posted shortly before that. I actually like the fact that he takes notice. I was slightly disturbed with the nature of the website as I thought it wasn't 'highbrow' enough, as I'm an intellectual, and like to discuss things very seriously. I haven't come across anyone I didn't particularly dislike.
