Hi All I am wondering if anyone else had any issues with the first 500? pages of this book. I am finding that I can only read it for a short time until I get tired or loose interest. I am also finding he is getting to over descriptive in some parts like how he over describes mike hanolons farm. I am about on page 300 or something, and have found that king has yet to "grab me and pull me in" were I have to know what happens next. is it because it is still a bit early in the story or is the whole book like this? thanks

I was sucked in from page one. But, did you see the movie(s) before you started reading the book? If so, then maybe you were expecting thrills and chills right from the get go and that's not what the book is about (yet).

Yes I did. I did see the movies first, but also I am 38 so it may be a generation thing. This is kind of why I at times prefer joe hill as she does not do this in to much depth

the introductions in the phone calls is difficult because your thrown into the moment before getting to know the characters. When you meet them as children you become instantly attached.

The fact that there is so many key characters that need both individual depth and group purpose makes it tough to flow at points.

It may be easier if arranged another way but the non linier course of the story pays off in the end.

I think that is a good way to describe how I am felling. the flow seems off a bit, and also I find king books take me a while to get into them usually due to this reason oif over describing things. usually it passes by page 100 but since this book is like 1,500 pages it will take a while. I am on like page 300 something so hopfully I will get the hook soon.

My first experience with IT is the original TV mini-series. I have started to read the book, but haven't made it much past Stan's chapter. That chapter took me a while to get through.

I found eddies hard when he gets the first phone call. it was like 3 pages of eddies fat wife and then one page and a half of eddies medicine cabinet. I was like we get the point Eddie has a lot of drugs..
