They made too much of a fuss over it, the scratch I mean, for it not to mean something if there is to be a second season. Also the hint was dropped about there may more Outsiders out and about...
Yep. They planted the seeds for sure. But where exactly? To me, it seemed like a ploy to get us to watch this hand while the real story is in the other.

They purposely focused on Holly with that final scene. They wanted us to come to that conclusion. And maybe they are that transparent. But I hope they are pulling the wool over our eyes to the one we don't see coming.

I just finished the final episode of The Outsider. Good lord, what an absolutely terrific show. I haven't even read the book yet (it's still sitting on my desk), but my friends were bugging me to watch it so I caved. The two leads who played Ralph and Holy deserve Emmy nods at next year's awards.

I'm watching this now having finished the book today. I'm on episode 4, I'm finding the acting hit and miss, and some of the (massive amount of) changes just seem so unnecessary. Holly is one of 2 truly outstanding characters from kings recent work (the other is sadie dunhill). Its hard for me to accept her being so different then the books she's in.

Right - I don't remember her being the way Holly is portrayed in the series but still I do find her to be an interesting actor - I like her and if it wasn't for her I might have stopped watching the series.

It's as if the producers of this show didn't read the book at all. They may as well have cast Danny DeVito to play the part of Holly. You can tell the actress is really struggling and out of her comfort zone in trying to depict Holly. It's just dreadful.....a complete train wreck. I have watched the first 5 episodes and cringe each time the Holly actress is on screen. If you have read the Mr. Mercedes novels....and watched the tv series..........then to come to this, is just completely unacceptable.
