Hi,
First post here after a while lurking and a late comer to reading Stephen King.

Just a quick back-story on how I came to start reading Stephen King books.
I am dyslexic and just found the sheer size of the books that caught my attention very daunting and put me off reading them.

Then a six month layoff with a back problem 5 years ago (I’m 49 now) meant I had time on my hand so I bought 11.22.63 for my wife’s eBook reader. No daunting book size =D

It took a while to get into it, I find getting into reading a problem. But it got easer and you may have heard the phrase “rhythm of reading” most people have it but dyslexics do not. But the way Mr King Writes I found a rhythm in this book and I finished it, wow what have I been missing.

Long story short I have now just finished The Dark Tower series and I am blown away. Wizard and Glass will say with me for a long time!!

The reason why I was brought to this site in the first place was I purchased The Dark Tower Sketch Book “The Gunslinger Born” signed my Mr King on the first page in silver ink.

It is supposedly from the 2007 NY comic con which Mr King did attend to promote this new venture with Marvel.

Could I post a picture of it here and have some feedback on it as to its validity?

I did not pay a lot for it and have it framed already. I’m in two minds to find out as I do like it a lot.

Thank you all in advance.

Ps. sorry for double post I did not see the newbies start here thread in time

Thank you all for the warm welcome :)
Right moment of truth do I have a genuine Stephen King autograph? Hope it is as I do like it. I will post up how I have framed it later if people are interested?
Here it is....be kind.

Thank you :)
I think you're okay. I noticed that it's done in silver ink and that's what he often uses when signing comic books or other items that have that glossy paper.

Just about to go out so thank you for the feedback so far and here is it framed up....no comic books where harmed on the making of this!!

I distressed an old frame I had using a Tea bag I'm English so I would! And the background I just swirled some acrylic paint about to match the front cover, this seemed to make the plain page with the signature on stand out a little better. The whole thing cost around £50 (including the comic book) so if the autograph is good I'm very happy.

Thank you all again for your feedback.

Welcome Geordieman and hello. Do audio books have a different path to your brain than reading? I'm just curious as to whether something is more easily understandable if it is read to you, rather than you reading it yourself. Here's a bad joke that is hopefully not insulting, but I'm almost sure it's ignorant..."My friend belongs to A.D.A...(Dyslexics Against Drugs)". All the best, mal.

mal,
Hi, not insulted at all
Yes I do like audio books as well, I just need to mention Frank Muller here and I think that could start a whole new thread. Sadly Frank is no longer with us but he read so beautifully and coloured the story with his voice. Reading for me now puts my own colour on the story which I do prefer. Audio books are great, a good example is Wizard and Glass. I felt moved by the audio book but I still now get a shiver since I read it. Hearing the audio first I do think makes reading it later a easier but then I get to add my own vision of it by reading. Sorry for the long reply and spelling mistakes as I'm on holiday in Portugal and doing this on my phone.
Thank you all again for the liked and feedback. I will post some more when I'm home
