Thank you.

My first SK book was The shining, years ago when I was about 11, my parents were taking in donated books for the church jumble sale and one of the books stood out amongst all the trashy MIlls n Boon books. It was an ancient yellow paperback that was so old the binding glue had disintegrated and I was trying to keep it from falling apart while I read it. I must have got about a quarter of the way in when my mum said of for goodness sake, throw it out, its not worth that much sellotape. So I went to the library and looked for the book there, but they didnt have it in and I had to fill a request form to get it in.
My second and third books were Firestarter, and then IT.
I read some others of his, but then I went on to other authors.
theres still a few of his books I havent read yet, but Im getting there.
I finally read the Black tower series and completed it after about 2 or 3 years last year and Im currently reading The Stand for the first time now.

What do you do when the forums not open? Ive been waiting for 3 days to being able to post on here.

I decided to start being chatty when my 13 yr old son asked me if he could read IT.
Hes not really a reader, he prefers to watch the magic box sothe book will take him some time, if he actually keeps on with it. but Im not holding my breath.
He went from reading The outsiders by SE Hinton on mine and a teachers recommendation, to discovering the movie version that took him onto Stand by Me. That pricked my ears up and I got him to watch Christine, The green Mile, IT (tv miniseries) the shawshank redemption, I took him to the cinema to watch IT parts 1 and 2 and then 4 nights ago he asked to watch the shining.
Ive got a few other SK movies, that Im not that into, either the book just wasnt one of my faves or the movie adaption sucked. but im considering getting some of my old faves on dvd. I used to have a few on vhs but that was like over 25 years ago.

There's a forum started by SKMB member osnafrank called Weekend Playground where people can carry on discussions while this Board is closed.
