I'm a writer: short stories and essays for the most part, and a novel that's in its final revisions (I hope). I've also dabbled in film. And as for Stephen King, I started reading him at an age when I was, maybe, a little too young. But what does it matter? The Shining has proved indispensable. His work made me want to start writing. Incidentally, the 1980 adaptation was the first Kubrick film I ever saw, and that made me want to get into movies too. Its wonderful what can come from one story.
