Hello everyone,
I'm sure you guys know more than me.
as I wrote in the newbie section I'm from Italy (Rome) and I'm following a particular traineeship whose professors now asked me and two others (which, alas, don't read SK) to research about IT and its tremendous success.

I'm supposed to find interviews, newspaper articles and really ANYthing that could help me explain why this occurred, at that time, with that particular book, and document it.

I'm particularly interested in interviews and reviews that came out in those years. I can't find any on the internet, everything is more or less recent. Also, I don't need to talk about the movie (on the contrary, it's almost forbidden).

Maybe some of you have got some old paper, or can tell me how to access some archive which existence I ignore. If there is such an archive.

I can't seem to even find whole interviews about IT. There are a few in which the Master talks about it, but usually very briefly, and always tells the same story (the one about the bridge).

I'd be grateful for life to anyone who'd find the time to help me.

Your fellow,
Dante.

P.s. Guess what, the assignment also implies that I try to interview the King, as well as his italian translator, the great Tullio Dobner. They set the bar pretty low, huh?

I can't speak for the translator, but unfortunately, Stephen is not doing any interviews at this time as he has too many other projects already on his calendar and that's unlikely to change for the remainder of 2016.

Are you looking for reviews/articles from the time of the publication published anywhere? I'm not working in the office today but will be tomorrow. We have files with reviews of his novels--mostly US--so could pull a few from that to send you.

Hi Mod,
thank you for your kind reply. It was NOT my intention to try and interview the King himself (I wouldn't ask that, even if maybe, someday, in my dreams...).

I'm looking for articles and interviews and reviews, from 1986 and such, but I can't seem to find any of these "originals". All I find are reviews and articles that were written in the last couple of years.

The assignment is to analize the book's reception and its incredible success at the time, and why did it happen.

If you have that US stuff you mentioned and you can send it to me, that would be stunning.

Thank you again.

Send me a private message with your email address and I can scan them and send them to you that way.

I will, right away.

And you all, of the message board, if you happen to even REMEMBER something from those years that you wish to share with me, you're more than welcome to do so!

Anything will be appreciated.

Something specific to IT, you say? Yeesh, I'm wracking my brains here, Dante (trying to be your 'Virgil' though the twisted inTerWEB.mess) and kind of coming up blank. I remember reading an interview somewhere in which King spoke of seeing some kid in a park or on a dirt road, poking a stick into the dirt, making a hole, talking about the 'monster' that lived down there. He said he got most of the idea from that. That's pretty cool, but I can't for the life of me remember from what magazine it came from. Some site, somewhere...

There are old interviews and such of Stephen on youtube from that time that you might get something from.

If you can track down this issue of Time magazine from Oct 6, 1986, that might help:
