I was wondering about how Henry and his friends will be depicted in the new movie. We sure haven't seen much of them in the trailers, apart from Henry's knife.
As we all know, in the book Henry gets beaten by the Losers over and over again (he gets kicked in the nuts by Ben and Bev, Mike breaks his nose, etc.) (by the way, doesn't that make him a loser too?). Will any of that be in the movie?
What about the scene where he and his friends light their own farts? That was a funny sequence in the book. Also, will Patrick be sexually attracted to Henry in the movie or will there be no reference to that? And do you think Belch will actually belch, as he did in the 1990 miniseries?

couldn't tell you about most of this, but i think you can safely count out the fart lighting scene

In today's climate of hysteria I sincerely doubt there will be any type of homosexual activity/references, especially since this movie's main characters are all children. It doesn't really further the story, so it would be left on the editing floor anyway. Hopefully Belch will belch for much needed humorous moments as this movie is going to be INTENSE!

OK. What about the Losers beating up Henry and his subsequent frustration? I understand the movie will be quite different from the novel. I just hope they don't get rid of the funny stuff altogether. After all, IT isn't just a horror story. I believe that in this story the humorous stuff is as essential as the dark/serious elements.

....it is, and humor is a powerful solace AND weapon....no need for non-stop fright without some laughs, to much of one-destroys the impact of the other....
