22 yr old guy here, I have been a King fan since I was very young. I've always been a huge horror fan, so I guess its kind of natural to be a King fan as well. I wanted to be a writer from a very young age, actually attempted it numerous times. I was always inspired by how King started out, but I eventually gave it up completely as it all just seemed overwhelming for me, trying to focus on a real job to make ends meet, honestly didn't have the time for the writing deal. I used to collect King's books like a maniac, and still have quite a few paperbacks, both old and new school editions, but after searching the house I only found 1 hardback, Dreamcatcher.

My dad does some residential contracting work and he was working for this guy who was another huge fan, and when he heard about me he invited me up to the house ( this has been years ago ) with dad and gave me a whole collection of hardback books. Im talking great condition too, nearly all of them were in excellent shape. Well I eventually got out of reading and sold every single one of them along with some paperbacks ( much easier to replace the paperbacks though! ). I believe From A Buick 8 and Cell were the most recent ones I have read, so I have quite a bit of catching up to do. I just recently got back into reading, mainly because of the release of " Doctor Sleep " which I plan on getting this weekend. I'm kicking myself now for getting rid of those hardbacks, they were worth a nice chunk of change and I let them go for pretty much nothing. I'll never get that lucky again. Going to take awhile to replace all of those, with a fixed income. So I figured I might just catch up on the great work I missed out on, and try and replace the hardbacks a little as I go.

Thank you all for reading and I look forward to chatting soon! Keep reading, Kinganites!

Welcome to the board and I'm so sorry you let your books go. I know how it feels when you let something go and then wish with all you have to get it back. Check out the community.

Hi there and Welcome to the SKMB @bigkingfan91! (so you are a Kinganite then?) (that must be one of the more obscure clans from the South) - I am a Kingaholic myself
Hope you like it here! Lots to read and plenty of nice people:)

Yes, and every one of them looked to be brand new! I'll never forget the copy of Needful Things, of course it's not the oldest book but it was in pristine condition. He was into King and reading, but not so much as we are, so I guess he had no real problem with just letting them go. I obviously had no problem with letting them go either, which I will regret for the rest of my days! Didn't even get a picture of that collection :(

What is the small creature we can see at the back of your collection? It appears to be in a cage - aren't you worried it may escape and chew up your books?

Thats a bloated old rat girl. Her and her mum lived there together, until mum recently passed. :( She will be four, this year; quite the ancient matriarch herself.

The books aren't normally near her - I'm taking inventory of my collection. :) (Though YES, she would love to chew them, although she is terribly spoiled with many toys/chews as it is....even has two water sources, one for drinking and another for bathing.)

Nice collection! We have a lot of the same editions, I have the same Pet Semetary edition, and my front cover is all to heck! When I found it in a used bookstore years ago, the front cover was cracked and ripped, but almost like it was brittle like you could barely move it and it would crack. It ended up almost coming off so I taped it, and I hate that! I love the old editions and hate when you find one that's almost complete and in good shape except for 1 bad spot. But I guess im lucky to have even found it.
