Newbie here, how are you?
I'm a student of polish philology at university in Poland and in this academic year I'm writing my diploma thesis about Poles in Mr. King's novels. I really wanted to write him a letter or an e-mail but I'm not sure, if I'll get any respond. I found this forum and I think it would be a great place to ask: do you know anything about this theme in his books, maybe there are some interwievs that I haven't found about "polish issue" and, if it is really a thing? I'm a big fan and sometimes I can find polish characters in his books, I'm really courious if he know/knew any people from here, or maybe it's just stereotypical way to think about certain nationality? I don't want to sound angry or upset, just want/ need some thoughts and different ways to look at this.
I'm sorry if this is not the place to ask questions like this but I look forward to any respond!
Have a nice day! :)
Laura

Welcome JLaura! King's greatest strength is his character development. His characters have lots of polish! All kidding aside though, I think it would depend on where he lived and whether a lot of Polish people were around him in the community. Where I grew up, in small town Saskatchewan, there were a lot of Polish and Ukrainian families, so I know all the swear words. :)

In On Writing Mr. King says his method of revision has always been "two drafts and a polish."

I hope you realize we are talking about the double meaning of the word 'polish' vs. Polish
