I was born in Salem, MA, the only daughter of a psychologist and a retired school administrator. I was an only child with an active imagination and I quickly learned to explore my world by reading - a lot! My mom bought me "The eyes of the Dragon" when I was eight and was hooked. We moved to Derry, (NH of course) where I attended Pinkerton Academy (Frost taught there). I have read pretty much everything Stephen has written (not all of the Dark Tower), but let me get back to me for one minute. I graduated from UNH and taught English, but it was not until I read "On Writing" (then listened to it while reading it) that I noticed (MORE THAN) a couple of connections. The part about the rejection letter nail prompted my mother to post all of her manuscript rejections the same way. Stephen King unknowingly pushed my mother to publish her first book before my father passed away, which is a gift that means more to her and I than anyone will know. His time was limited and she just wanted him live to see her have a book published. I'm getting kind of sad now because its father's day and i never expected his post to go in this direction. Forgive me, I'm normally more articulate and witty. Thank you for allowing me to be here.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I think I'll spend more time here. I try to limit my social networking time because I'm a parent and I work online but this might be better than the other options. In other news . . . It's hot in Phoenix! :a11: (Wow! What a a variety of emoticons to choose from). Inevitably I choose the wrong one. Anyhoo I was saying- it's wicked hot here and I've been hibernating. I'll come back later tonight and :okay:( that was weird) read.

No! I lived in the outskirts of Derry (close to the Chester town line) and we had no fear of sewers; I don't even remember seeing them. I did develop a fear of clowns but I blame Disney, not Pennywise;;D. However, I did wonder about the park. Once I read "It", I began mapping out the landmarks because of the obvious similarities. Every fictional piece is grounded somewhere, it's the inception of the ideas behind the piece that create a symbiotic experimental and experiential masterpiece.:bat:(I love bats<><nonsequitur) No! I see that it is a simile . . .where is the metaphor emoticon tab?
