I`m satisfied.
No, that`s not the right word. I`m feeling good about it. Not great, but hey, GREAT is for The Stand, IT, The Green Mile, 11/22/63 and of course the DT series.
He put much soul into this one, the characters are brilliant, alive, once again it feels like I could meet any of them in any place, bump into them in the supermarket, start a small talk...hey, maybe learn some new guitar chords, or teach some.
It`s a lot better than Doctor Sleep, a thousand times better than Mr Mercedes and...yeah, well, for me, just about in the same league with Joyland. And I LOOOOVVVEEEDDD Joyland.
This is Stephen King 2014, the man still has the wide imagination of a child, he can still tell you a story that keeps you thinking for a few days, some parts and sentences are BRILLIANT and not to be forgotten at all.
To get to the horror part you have to wait for a long time, almost until the very end, but when you get to it - it`s good, I liked it.
The ending made me sad and when that happens with King, then I usually know that the book was actually really good. It`s either be sad or make up your own ending with him and since that sometimes angers me in his books, those endings that are open to interpretation, I like it that this one has a conclusion.
I don`t think anybody will be disappointed. Just don`t expect to read something like the Big Guns I mentioned in the beginning, and you are good to go.
Cause THAT sh!t starts in E.
The rest is sometimes an A-minor, sometimes a B. Whatever blows your hair back on the given day you are reading them
;)

Lovely post. As usual i am holding of buying it.... Ridiculous really but I always make myself wait as long as possible before buying a new book.
I used to buy a new Anne Rice book in hardback when it was released, but not read it till she released another hardback which I would purchase, so that way I always had a 'new' unread Rice book on the shelf, but I don't do that anymore.
