i did find this page with rules.

https://stephenking.com/xf/index.php?threads/debate-rules-suggestions.13650/

However, I know it does not contain ALL the rules because I have previously had a post deleted because it broke a different rule. (Might have been a meme or a video.)

So, where are the rest of the rules?

I want to post something, but I’m not positive it’s allowed. If there’s a three strike rule, I might be close, lol.

What I want to post is a link to a tweet. If you click on the link there is then a video. The video is edited, so it is not a real news video. C9moarable to a lot of meme, but much funnier.

We need to update the rules about memes as that was something we hadn't thought of when they were first written up. Also, the term meme is more broadly meant to include any cartoon, video, etc. that makes fun of a political figure or party. If you have a question about whether something is questionable, you can always send a private message to all of the mods so that whichever one is on duty will see it, and we can offer an opinion before it gets posted.

The board is closed as often as it is open. I'm not sure why that has to be the case. Most Internet forums seems to function just fine without someone constantly monitoring it. Since the political section has closed there doesn't appear to be any out of control debates or disagreements going on.

That's because you probably don't see those as they get deleted when a moderator is on duty.

Key word " most internet forums seems to function just fine without constant monitoring of it". The SKMB is unlike other forums. Proactive has been since day one. Reactive does not work.

I think this is the most civilized, sane place on the net along with the playground.
I was NOT kidding when I referred to myself as battle scarred in my first comeback post in the Cantina.
I had an iPad for awhile and I made good use of it on an art app, to do some digital work for a couple of projects of mine.
There were some nice people there, there always are, but the majority were practically beastly.
....and I just refused to take any of it lying down.
And I was not kidding when I referred to this place as a balm of Gilead :)

The Playground is set to the same rules as the SKMB.

Proactive to what purpose? I'm not sure how shutting it down half the time is being proactive. If so, however, then why not close it permanently and have a 100 percent success rate? That would be like closing the airports to improve airline safety. I've been here for years and other than the discussions regarding politics have never seen anyone out of hand. And even if they were, maybe just ban those folks who violate the rules. I haven't seen any other Internet forum shut down for days each week.

It will be once I'm retired at the end of June next year as has been previously mentioned. And as I'd mentioned above, that you had not noticed the controversies may have more to do with the fact that there are moderators who are keeping an eye on things and stopping them early before they completely blow up.
