As sort of a follow up to the last thread... How did the story reveal, how Andy knew, that the Gunslingers were coming?

...or was it Andy who told them? Perhaps it was The Manni that that made this discovery using magic?

....the answer to that is within the story, and welcome to the club!....

I'm on my second read of the seven books in the Dark tower series. Currently just finished VI. I mention this because I had this same question on my first read but seemed to have missed it twice! Oh well, hopefully the third read will be the one where I finally get it, unless someone else is willing to dole out a clue.

Third read BTW will include 9 other of King's related works as I discovered in an article on digg website: /2017/how-to-read-the-dark-tower. Quite exciting because unlike most people I have encountered... Dark Tower is the only King I have read so far.

Thanks for the welcoming everyone.

I have gone back to the book where Callahan says "Not six days’ ride nor’west of us, and bound southeast along the Path of the Beam, come three gunslingers and one ’prentice.” Then he goes on to say "I have it from Andy, who’s seen them."

So to be more specific with my question... Does anyone know "How" Andy was able to see them when they were six days ride out? No screens in the Dogan were of the forest as I recall.

...Not that it’s specifically covered or revealed by King-but I’ve always thought it’s Andy’s ability to quickly cover ground when needed and if alerted by other minions of the Crimson King...plus there are some tunnel systems about and there’s always use of Todash space...hope my ruminations helped some...

Thank you Gentle Giant for taking another stab at it. Much appreciated. Beyond the "Castle on the Abyss" there was the Fedic dogan which Mia said has passages under it, but nothing mentioned about passages under the Thunderclap dogan. Also I'm not sure about a robot being able to go todash at all, but those are definitely good ruminations. Perhaps I should just let this one go as there seems to be no definite answer, but I feel better knowing that maybe I didn't really miss it after all. With a story this deep and complex it is fun to ponder these things.
