As a fan, I am in the process of reading through `On writing: A Memoir of the Craft` (a kindle/Amazon PC download) and have just completed 6 pages for the first exercise, albeit the exercise has taken on a life of it`s own, and it will be an ongoing project moving forward. Since, in the book, you requested a brief message to be relayed concerning how the exercise went I figured I would follow your directions to your website and relay the information.
The writing exercise, in part, was the most expensive six pages (font 14 though) I have ever typed. By the beginning of the fourth page, in true Asian Sa form, my keyboard died in a `freak` accident -my coffee spilled on to the keyboard and splashed on a couple of my thumb drives in a manner I am still trying to come to terms with and understand (I nearly lost two to three years worth of data, due to the spilled coffee and, in part, completing the exercise).
However, the blame is none but my own; I relearned the expensive lesson of never having a liquid near a computer (about 15 years ago being my last lesson). In reality, though, the lesson was for the better, since my new laptop has a much bigger screen and my posture has already improved due to the new purchase -I think I will be able to type an extra hour or two hours a day due to the new, necessary, purchase - do to posture muscle-skeletal fatiguing being reduced...I have also started making hard copies of my more valuable data and writings, a second copy to be completed today.
...thank you for taking the time and spending the best part of your lifetime working in the creative literary field; your books have helped people keep their heads above water and above the ongoing digital `low grade dimming down` saturation of reality; I am sure of it, in times that, sometimes, seem more similar to a mix between Maximum Overdrive (DST [directional sound technologies] and semi-autonomous AI in mind), Needful Things...and something similar to Desperation `possession` itself, albeit without those possessed always going ebola soup like or on murderous rampages...Tak itself seeming to have reformed on a less destructive level, although the yet finished leaky Dakota pipeline and it's possible 'Wendigo' souring a continental example of otherwise (lol).
Thank you, again, for your long list of works; I have yet to be disappointed by any of them and look forward to spending my time reading and thinking through them, when I have the resources to read through them all.
