just now reading this, kindle. first story i ever read on the kindle was...drum-roll...UR. just passed it...am reading whatever comes after that one. i'm not up on titles...the one about the van trip? king's little bit says the UR story here is revised, something like that. i'm dying here though so time is of the essence. could go back to it. good stories though...some have a certain...tone. like the batman robin story and one other. king used some adjective to describe it and i'll be damned if i can remember what it is. laconic? that might be it. someone tell me what that means. just a sec.

adjective
1.
using few words; expressing much in few words; concise:
a laconic reply.

ummmm. yeah, okay. what ones have i read before? UR...blockade billy? that in here? yeah, read that one. mile 81. read that one somehow. somewhere. kindle, too. anyway, fencing with this nonsense for a day or two, right, then it decides to body-slam me and i figure fine be that way. i'll nap. see if i won't. and crying out loud, two window jobs, and it's like everyone is in slow-mo. but that's the way that goes. no end in sight, this snow. we're s'posed to be up over 120 for december, broke a record from '78 but a foot or two, who notices?

carry on carry on as if nothing really matters

I knew I already have Blockade Billy in novella form and have previously read UR in ebook format.

About half way through the first page of Mile 81 I had that much familiar, and much disappointing, feeling that I had bought a book I already own. A few stories in and I now believe I must have read Mile 81 elsewhere.

I had read The Little Green God of Agony before. Got a copy of BOBD from the library and read Mile 81 for the first time recently, which I really liked. I'm a big fan of this sort of science fictiony type of story.

Welcome to SKMB by the way!

I never stress whenever I hear about some new SK short story being published, because I know it'll end up in a collection eventually. :)
