Bad flooding here. Had to take a couple of detours this morning just to get to work. Several wrecks with injuries on the interstate due to people thinking standing water rules don't apply to their vehicles when they hit it at 70mph. Never ceases to amaze me. Slowing down is just not an option for some drivers.
There are parts of FL that certainly could use some of the extra flood water.

This is not very profound (not a dire weather warning or terrible act of nature) but I do hope we don't get any rain tomorrow.

Some unsupervised neighborhood kids have climbed up on our closed tent trailer and attempted to pry open the plastic vent lid, so now it is loose with a bit of a gap - I am afraid if rain gets in there it will ruin the interior.

I wanted to go buy some duct tape tonight but I felt so miserable and the local hardware had closed at 6 p.m. - I'll have to go get some tomorrow and do the Mrs. Fix-it thingy then.

Hahaha heeheehee - I am having a flashback to some pictures you posted a while back of you stuck on a bridge, in some water, in your car [betcha thought we'd forgotten?]

:cool2::laugh::hmm::m_cruise:- wow - how long ago was that?

Did this happen to you Danie?

....it sure did buddy, she got herself into a hell of a mess....I remain thankful still that she wasn't seriously hurt.....
Yes, this happened in August last year, but it had nothing to do with speeding. My county got about 6 inches of rain in less than an hour, and on my way to work, the water overtook me in my little Mazda RX-8. The rescue people had to get me out and my car was totaled. I was sad at first, but now I'm happy because I was able to get my Porsche. : )

It was quite scary to see the photos you posted, but like you said - it turned to have a silver lining after all! :encouragement:

Planted some geraniums and marigolds in clay pots on Mother's Day - my son helped, which was nice.

So our deck is starting to look a bit nicer - will probably buy a few more plants tomorrow, perhaps in a contrasting colour. Right now we have red and salmon coloured geraniums and dark orange and bright yellow marigolds.

Maybe I will be able to find some white or blue flowering plants if I'm lucky. They are predicting rain tomorrow (might have to use my umbrella!)

May long weekend up here and most people will open their cottages and cabins, perhaps go camping (but I wouldn't want to do it in a tent!) and generally just get outdoors and picnic, go to the park etc.

Happy Long Victoria Day weekend to the Canadians!
