The Sliming :)
:love::clap:

Cold and gray just like every other day for the last 2 weeks and for the foreseeable future. Quickly getting cabin fever, spring fever, all the fevers! There is no color outside! Send help.

It is the same here - tons of snow piled up, cold and yucky (but many days we do get lots of sun)

I decided to stay up and right now I'm waiting for my yeast to proof in the measuring cup as I am making sweet roll dough to turn into cinnamon buns :biggrin2:

Dangit! I am trying to send a flamethrower to cat in a bag but the picture won't show up!

I can see it! :D

I could handle the cold temps a while longer before complaining but we are seeing very little of the sun. It has been so gloomy!

Dana - they turned out okay (some had walnut halves in them  eek)

- but I made another batch with just cinnamon and sugar, sprinkled with raisins. I like to cut them in half and then butter them, plus I put a light glaze on them as well.

Anyway - back to the weather

It is supposed to warm up a bit today, compared to how cold it was recently.

The highway between Morris MB and the US border (Hwy 75) was closed due to blowing snow but has been reopened.

Well here's how people react to just a little bit of ice where I live. It took me over an hour to drive the 15 miles to work this morning. EVERY overpass on the interstate had at least two or three vehicles wrecked on the side of the road, in the ditch, or on their sides. I just don't get it. The roads weren't that bad, just wet, the news last night and this morning stated there could be some freezing on BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES!...LOL. People were actually turning around, and heading the wrong way on the off ramps to get off the interstate causing more accidents. Welcome to Arkansas...lol

What are you driving? Do you have four wheel drive? When I lived in Ontario I absolutely HATED freezing rain - glad we don't get a lot of it out here in Winnipeg.

On a lighter note, (or maybe weirder) there was another link in your link which I found bizarre:

Man Accused Of Dipping Testicles In Customer’s Salsa

Yuck - and it wasn't even Taco Tuesday!

LMAO. That article about the salsa......:face:, wow.....yeah I read that one yesterday...WTF????

I drive an all wheel drive Buick Enclave SUV. The thing is, the roads weren't that bad. It was just unreal, there were people turning around right in front of me and coming back up the off ramp in the wrong direction, which caused ANOTHER accident when someone decided to do the same thing right in front of the other car. So then, you had two vehicles sideways on the off ramp pointed in the wrong direction..lol. I'm just amazed at my fellow Arkansans lack of driving skills when the weather is anything less than perfectly clear and sunny...lol.

It happens in sunny FL when we get a rain/ freeze. I learned to drive up north in mid winter- ice and snow. Have come to conclusion, a course in "winter" conditions should be mandatory before anyone gets a drivers licence. Learn the techniques needed to drive safe.

You're all crazy over there...

2010 Arkansas Code
Title 1 - General Provisions
Chapter 4 - State Symbols, Motto, Etc
§ 1-4-105 - Pronunciation of state name.

1-4-105. Pronunciation of state name.

Whereas, confusion of practice has arisen in the pronunciation of the name of our state and it is deemed important that the true pronunciation should be determined for use in oral official proceedings.

And, whereas, the matter has been thoroughly investigated by the State Historical Society and the Eclectic Society of Little Rock, which have agreed upon the correct pronunciation as derived from history and the early usage of the American immigrants.

Be it therefore resolved by both houses of the General Assembly, that the only true pronunciation of the name of the state, in the opinion of this body, is that received by the French from the native Indians and committed to writing in the French word representing the sound. It should be pronounced in three (3) syllables, with the final "s" silent, the "a" in each syllable with the Italian sound, and the accent on the first and last syllables. The pronunciation with the accent on the second syllable with the sound of "a" in "man" and the sounding of the terminal "s" is an innovation to be discouraged.

You people actually need an official state code for this?

ROTFLMAO. It was surreal driving into work this morning, Dio, it just blew my mind. The lack of decision making skills displayed by driver's in this state when the roads are anything less than completely dry is unreal. The pronunciation code doesn't really surprise me. The legislature is currently working on a bill where handgun permits will no longer be necessary if you want to carry a handgun open carry or concealed, anyone, EVERYONE can just carry anywhere...I'm sure that'll work out nicely....lol

Wyoming is open/conceal carry without a permit, works fine here! :)

Here I have to map out my travel scheme in the snow to avoid the steepest hills because we’ve gone crazy, also. The last two years they decided to put down brine before a snowstorm which seemingly gives them license to not unleash the snow plows until there’s at least 4” of snow on the roads. And then not to come back and plow for at least 2 hours. All that brine does is munch your car to pieces. Above 20 degrees the stuff forms into acid. I think my car is rotting out from under me. Never been a fan of liberal open carry or concealed laws... unless there's a brine truck in my sights. :)

I'm hoping it does here also. Personally, I'm all for concealed carry, wearing a handgun openly just tells the bad guys who to take out first but I can see both sides of the argument. Oklahoma is in the process of doing the same thing so pretty soon both states should be open or concealed carry, no permits necessary, and yeah Wyoming works because it's an awesome state to begin with!

I can't imagine having to deal with that much snow here, life would come to a complete halt here if we had that kind of snowstorm. We had something akin to a blizzard back in 2009 if I remember correctly and you would have thought it was the start of the zombie apocalypse. Wal-Mart stores were just about having to have people thrown out they were being so belligerent trying to buy supplies. The funny thing? The next day after we received all the snow, it warmed up to above freezing and it started melting........I mean, it's not like it was a week long blizzard or anything like the north and northeast is used to getting, ya' know?

So it was 10 years ago, eh? (did that make me sound like a Canadian or what?) :stupid:

I was just looking it up - it was a huge ice storm

FLASHBACK IN PHOTOS: Ice storm crippled parts of Arkansas 10 years ago this week

Where were you when it happened? Apparently the governor called out the National Guard?

Re: WalMart - yup people can get pretty panicky and act super stupid!

We had something like this in Quebec back in 1998 or 1999 and the military had to be called out there as well.
