I actually don't have an education in animal anthropology. But i think that something that that phenomenon is gonna be more and more common with more and more species over time. Many animals are rather finely adjusted to a niche thats dependent on many factors where temperature is just one. Here in sweden we have noticed a rather drastic diminishing of the population of a rather common bird (it stays the year around) because of the warmer climate and climat change. We humans dont feel these things as most animals do because we are so flexible in nature. In europe is the grey squirrel seen as an invasive species and has in many places replaced the native red squirrel. If it will go that far in the US remains to be seen. The so called Black squirrel is not according to a study i read it about its own species but a result of breeding among grey squirrels. Here in sweden the Red Squirrel is the only squirrel but in England it has lost the bigger part of the country. Some other countries, including either Italy or Spain (i forget which) is also slowly losing the red squirrel because of the grey. I think its a pity, The Red is so darn cute. The difference between US and europe when it comes to squirrels is that in Europe the grey is an invasive species and a problem while in the US it is native. Hopefully the red can hold its ground. But, as said, i'm no expert but these are my views anyway.
Thank you Kurben :)

We've had 11+ inches of rain in the last week and it's raining right now and doesn't appear like it will be stopping anytime soon. If it rains much more, toilet flushing is going to be getting difficult at my house and laundry will be suspended. I can go weeks without needing to do laundry but I can't go that long without a toilet. :)

Not much better on this coast. Luckily, water is draining well into the soil. Supposed to rain through the weekend. Stay safe.

Weathers good!
Hot just like it's supposed to be here. I love it.
Give Sir Bailey my apologies for misspelling his name and mistaking him for something he wasn't. :)
I remember you telling us that you brush him, so he will associate the less pleasant nail trimming with something nice.
Bailey says no problem! :wink::cat:

He is getting to be old now (was born in October of 2004 and I got him just before Christmas that year).

Back to the weather - not bad at 23.5 degrees C with 36% humidity (that's about 73F)

Paper says last night's storm had tennis ball sized hail and an unconfirmed tornado. So thankful it missed us! Lots of people on the phone with insurance companies today! One of hubby's co-workers got hit from the storm that did damage 3 or so weeks ago and had the roof already replaced from that storm and now it will need done again. And the one side of the house that had no siding damage now has siding damage. Ugh. What a pain in the arse!

We are hosting some big fireworks thing this week, too. Mother Nature upstaged them last night!
