Our power mad governor in NY shut down travel on the major interstates and thruway to tractor trailer traffic at 9AM..total overreach,he is costing those drivers a lot of money and delaying goods for what has amounted to a dusting. Not to mention there is not enough room at the truck stops and rest stops for all those trucks, but he likes to grandstand for the press and show what proactive dude he is..bleccchhh..
I watched a little of Cuomo yesterday. Never one to back away from blaming global warming every chance possible... yesterday he was blaming Mother Nature.

I'm certainly not some climate change denier but I really hate when politicians do this. Climate change is not any specific storm but long term. Weather and climate are not the same thing. It's ok to say that we are seeing an increase in the number of strong storms in the past x number of years but to say this storm is because of climate change is not doing anyone any good.

But to search for a different explanation for a world wide phenomenon because climate change can't be isn't going to help us either. Sorry, if this was to harsh. It wasn't ment to offend.

No offense, I'm just trying to say that climate change is a trend not an event. I'm sure you can go back in history and find a storm just a devastating. Climate change is so divisive that I think when you see people blaming a specific storm on climate change, then a denier will say "well, there was a worse storm in 1933" and not see the bigger picture. I just think we are better being as factual as possible. I think you are boxing yourself in when you start claiming specific storms are because of climate change because you can always find a worse storm in the past. Climate change is more the increase of the number of huge weather events over a period of time than a specific event. I just think things like this give fuel to the deniers. (and they sure don't need more fuel ;-D)

 You are much warmer than my area. You stay warm.

We are supposed to be around 50 tonight and that sounds much warmer than your area. It sure is a beautiful day today. 65, clear and sunny and tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same. I'm going to enjoy it, it's about the only winter we've had this year.
