Fortunately, in my case anyways, beer never seems to last long enough around me to freeze whether it be in the freezer, a snow bank or in liquid nitrogen.

Today has been a cold, grey bucket of suck, but this is the capper: got home to find a letter from a local court dinging me for not paying a ticket. That I didn't get. I was in an accident on 12/21, but it was the other driver's fault (I was stopped at a stop light and she hit me from behind while turned around to do something with her child in the back seat). The officer had us exchange info, she admitted fault to both him and me, and to her insurance company. I just got my car back yesterday, FFS. This is for a ticket issued on 12/22. I didn't even drive my car on the 22, because I was waiting around home all day for the insurance adjuster to call! SO. Either the officer screwed up royally, or someone has my name and addy on a driver's license and is using it. Either way, I'm mad as hell (and it takes a LOT to push me beyond irritated).

I called the court today, and there's nothing they can do without the officer who attended both events (wreck and ticket) getting involved. I can't get hold of him until Monday. The ticket was issued to a 1998 Chevy Blazer at 9 in the morning on the 22nd. I've never even driven a blazer--lol. I suspect the cop didn't clear out my info from the night before and got the info from two events linked together. He'd better be able to clear this up or I have a big can of this to unleash:

If that guy has at least one brain cell left, he should figure out pretty quick that you are one hundred times smarter than he is and he best not tangle with you!!! :smile2:

Got my copy of The Lost Novels of Bram Stoker in the mail the other day. Been wanting to read these books (The Jewel of the Seven Stars, The Lady of the Shroud, and The Lair of the White Worm) for some time now--mainly that White Worm deal, as I've been told it's one weird, surreal tale. But, after a glance at the table of contents, I see that what I have is the furshlugginer edited edition of Lair of the White Worm, cut by about 100 pages--from 40 chapters down to 28.

Words cannot express the rage I feel. Well, okay, it ain't that big a deal...but, dang it, I don't do abridged editions of anything. The only reason I bought the damn book was because the reviews on Amazon led me to believe it contained the full text of Lair. All the other editions were either cut (like mine, grrr) or edited to conform to our modern PC mentality (another blasphemy in my book).

Anybody know where I can find an uncut, unabridged, bloody unexpurgated copy of The Lair of the White Worm by Stoker?

Just a thought ma'am that might expedite getting this matter cleared up. When you do talk to the officer that issued the ticket, ask him for his email address. If possible, email him a scanned copy of the actual ticket. Officers write so many, it's hard to keep any single one in your head. Actually looking at the ticket will jog his/her memory and he can also take that emailed copy and forward it to the records division with a note to void the ticket along with the reason. The records division should, in turn, forward the void to the court where the ticket should die as far as you having anything further to do with it. It's one of those cases where making it a bit easier on the officer will most likely make the issue go away quicker and you won't have to waste any more time dealing with it. Anyway, like I said, just a thought ma'am. Good luck.
