I'm not sure I would say I am angry, but... ah, **** it, I'm going to go to a window and yell "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore." My mom and my granddad almost died last week and they are both in the hospital and I am trying to be there for them and my dad, but that's not the half of it though.

My boss took a vacation this week at the worst possible time for me and all of the employees lost their collective minds. Tuesday night I lost it and called my immediate acting supervisor out of desperation and said I was done and leaving. He told me just to hang on and that he would be by Wednesday to talk to me and even give me more money.

He NEVER showed. Didn't call. Didn't text. My supervisor, the guy who is supposed to have my back and be the law, either forgot about me or thought I was lying. 6 years with this company and this... is the treatment I get when I ask for some help.

That did it. I'm not in the mood for this nonsense. Saturday when my boss comes back from vacation I'll tell him that his boss is garbage and give in my notice.

(((jacobtlong))) Healing vibes for your mom and granddad. Sending positive thoughts your way.

....old buddy, I DO know what you're feeling and only have one suggestion-know where you're going before you leave....have another option to bring in a check, or the stress will only get worse.....bro hugs aplenty.......

jacob, hope everything works out for your mom and grandad, that's scary both at the same time.

Don't jump out of the frying pan into the fire. Take a step back and analyze your situation before doing anything that you might regret after a few days of calming down and reflecting. You have a lot on your plate right now, and just getting away from it all is activating your flight or fight response and I totally understand your feelings.

Pray for me! The renters next door will be out soon as the landlord has

SOLD THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!

If they are nice, reasonable people, fine, but if not, I have to find time, money, and means to have a large, solid 8-foot fence built along the property line ASAP! The current fence is a small picket fence awfully inadequate to avoid any onslaught of awfulness, not to mention not built along the property line--there is very little room so as a courtesy the fence is about a foot and a half away from the property line in their favor. Mom needs extensive dental work and other things, but if they so much as look at me funny I will STEAL a fence or the means to build one!!!!!!!!!!

Not angry so much as frustrated. What is it called when you live within your means and haven't bought anything on credit for around 20 years? "Responsible", right? Nope. "Creditless." :( We make no payments on anything but our house, and that is almost paid off (6 years left). I found a phenomenal deal on a Subaru Outback to replace my aging Forester, but it's more than the cash in my bank account. We thought the loan would go through slick as [redacted] through a goose, but nope. We have to provide proof of everything financial and then they still want a big down payment. Poop. It's like we were 18 year old newlyweds again (except that we were older than 18 when we wed--lol), but with more aches and pains. I'm getting too old for this crap.

My mom went through that when my dad passed. Always used cash. No credit.
One small suggestion--- apply for a basic credit card, buy one item each month and pay it off- if you can;t pay off. STOP. The item can by a fast food meal/ anything small. It builds credit. Crazy way to do things. I still get funny looks when I hand cash to a checker!

You're right, of course. I loathe being in debt, but I guess it's just part of living in America now. We got the loan and just have to hand over the down payment and sign the papers tomorrow.

That's good news. I had to do that with mom. With no credit, it had to be a store credit card. So we did that, she established credit and then a ton of offers come pre approved. You file them in the trash. I guess they call it progress?

((Skimom))) First... I've had Outbacks for about 14 years. Love them and they will last you a long, safe time!! Enjoy your new ride!!!

Second... agree with Spidey. It's stupid, but it's the world we live in. We pay most bills through credit cards. One is our Hilton card, which we use the bonus points for free hotel stays. One is Discover, which gives us cash back. We pay both each month, so no outstanding balance, plus we get stuff back!! PM me if you want more info.

Skimom, glad you got the new vehicle!

Like Do1you, I have a credit card through Chase and Amazon. Every purchase earns points to spend at Amazon. I have received so many free books and other stuff because I put nearly everything on the card, then pay it off every month. Builds much good credit, and you’re not really in debt if you pay the balance every month.

I talked with my boss when he came back Saturday. This may get confusing so I'll call my boss Nate and his boss Burt to differentiate between the two. I had a long conversation Nate and I told him to tell Burt that I am giving my notice specifically because Burt lied to me and didn't own up to his word. And I am not rescinding my notice until I hear from Burt. I knew Nate didn't want to lose me so he would do right by me, but this was all about principle to me. If I didn't hear from Burt himself it would mean nothing and my notice would be official.

Before Saturday was over I got a phone call from Burt and we spoke for about twenty minutes. He apologized to me and gave me another raise like he said he would. I know he's still a liar and I'll always remember that. For me the money wasn't the issue originally because I hadn't asked for a raise when I asked for his help. I had a raise earlier in the month. But he brought the whole issue up in the first place and I wanted him to keep his word. It was all about the principle for me.

I wanted the apology and the acknowledgement of wrongdoing more than the money, but I'll take the money too. :D

So I still have my current job and I rescinded my notice. I make a dollar more an hour than I did 30 days ago. I can't feel too bad about that.

Now hopefully I can just focus on my folks and their wellbeing and not work crap.

Good for you! That dollar difference may help when you need to buy a little treat now and then - glad you stuck to your guns :)

Ugh! My 10 year old granddaughter is loud. I keep telling her not to scream, not to yell, move away when you are that loud. The second time she yelling right at my ear today there was a sharp pain.

I think I have a perforated eardrum. My doctor is in the hospital so if it’s still like this tomorrow I’ll have to see if someone else can squeeze me in.

Shower this morning resulted in serious pain. I went to a clinic. The doctor said he didn’t actually “see” a hole or tear, but symptoms sounded like a small one is there. He prescribed antibiotic anti-inflammatory drops. I also took some OTC pain meds.
...a small bit of cotton ball like fluff, just inside the ear canal will help cut down on some of the discomfort....especially when trying to shower....
