Thanks to all - Josh actually DID have a bad experience in the past where he allowed someone from "Microsoft" to take over his computer remotely (as you mentioned do1you9love? - this was several years back.

In regards to a bracelet - that is a good idea - I will look into getting one engraved for him.

We went to the bank where they issued him a new debit card which will stop the payments coming out.

The 3 digits on the back were first blocked out with a black Sharpie but I noticed when the card was tilted you could see the numbers still, so I scraped at it with a tool until the numbers were illegible.

The bank manager will see him this coming Monday to see if there is any way he can get at least some of his money back. We deal with CIBC and I think he has some sort of insurance in this regard to protect him from scammers.

There are so many girls on there (Facebook) showing pictures of their breasts and rear ends - what the heck? (and no these were not breastfeeding pics but obviously sexual poses).

There was even one person who was showing what looked like a sex act taking place, so that one got reported.

What the heck is the world coming to anyway?

Most of the girls that got deleted were very poor at English.

I will admit, since he was on vacation I have not been monitoring his on-line activity so I will be more diligent in the future.

Thanks again to everyone for your helpful and supportive comments :butterfly:

Josh is out front right now making apple sauce out of the few remaining apples on our front lawn =D
I certainly hope all this turns out ok and that Josh gets his money back. Internet dealings can be very shady.Hoping you are enjoying Andy being home. I assume he made it safely.

It was a guy on the phone - called our house phone, then switched over to Josh's cell - he had an Indian accent :facepalm_smiley:

@Neesy I'm really sorry. It's always the nice, good people who wind up as victims of these kind of things. It makes me mad too.

Thanks :encouragement: - wasn't it Stephen King who said that his Mom told him "Thank God you weren't born a girl - you'd be pregnant by now" ;;D:biggrin2:

It has just been revealed that Dolores O'Riordan's inquest will be held on her birthday (September 6th). "Angry" is an overstatement, but I'm not amused. If her family doesn't have a problem with it, I, as an outsider, definitely shouldn't have a problem with it. But it somehow strikes me as disrespectful, you know? Like a sick joke.

Remember those awesome shoes I bought? Yeah well, they don't fit. :bull_head: Way too big, I keep slipping out of them. Such a bummer. I will exchange them for a smaller size, but that's a pain in the *ss with that particular webshop... :facepalm_smiley:

Now I'm stuffing my face with chocolate and listening to dramatic music, because I'm spoiled like that. Okay, actually I'm not spoiled at all, sometimes I just like being dramatic when I'm disappointed. :topsy_turvy:

Well my fridge broke down on Thursday last week and I lost all the contents of the freezer and some stuff in the fridge area too. The repairman
finally showed up about an hour ago and after 2 minutes of looking at my fridge told the building manager I need a new one. This one cannot be fixed. So, now I wait to see how long it is going to take the appliance store they deal with to deliver a new fridge. She said it is usually 2 weeks.
I said 'much sooner than that'.

I'd get the fridge and deduct the cost from the rent.

Was notified that my employer, which is not a Fedrral Agency, may keep with the “spirit” of the threatened pay freeze for Federal civilian employees

All I can say without turning this into a Hot Topic is I can’t wait for 2020.

Sounds like any excuse will do NOT to pay the employees what they have worked for and deserve. Shame on him !!

I can relate. Group projects are such a PITA. There is always at least one person who does not pull their weight. Been through it multiple times. I was the project manager for my senior seminar and me and the other person editing the paper had to basically re-write the whole thing. I also had to chase, harass, embarrass, and threaten people to do their assigned work. And these were all adult students!
