The cover of the July/August edition of HorrorHound magazine was a great collage of Stephen King characters. There was also a centerfold artwork covering two pages.

I loved this artwork and I checked with HorrorHound to see if I could get a print, but no dice. After a quick Google search, I was able to get in contact with the actual artist who made the cover, a very talented man named Paul Garner.

I asked Paul if I could buy a print of the artwork, but he said that since HorrorHound magazine had commissioned the artwork, he did not have rights to sell it to me.

So, I asked if he did personal commissions. He said yes but it might be expensive and take some time. I asked him for an estimate and after he answered, I said "Let's do this!"

I loved the original, but in order to avoid duplicating the one he did for HorrorHound, we'd start all over with new poses for each character, and remove certain characters, and add others. This was my chance to get the artwork exactly how I wanted it! The magazine original centerfold art had no image of The Gunslinger (this pre-dates the current Idris Elba interpretation), no Flagg/Dark Man, and it had several characters that I felt could be left out (such as Billy Halleck from "Thinner"). Also, I wanted Stephen King himself to be updated. We had some back-and-forth and Paul made revisions and additions each time.

Paul gave me exactly what I wanted! He also gave me all the original preliminary sketches and ideas that didn't make it to the final artwork at no extra cost! So not only do I have a one-of-a-kind custom made print, I have all the original elements.

Now, this happened 2 years ago and this image has never been shown to the public. The only people who have ever seen it are the artist, myself, and a few people who know me personally and have visited my home.

But now, for the very first time, you can view the artwork I commissioned (see below)! Note, this is a lower resolution image for SKMB members to view here, but if you try re-selling it as your own work, or try selling it as a print or a t-shirt or whatever without my permission, you will very likely get sued. Let's play nice here. If you want to set it as a wallpaper for your own computer, I'm fine with that. And Scott (GNTLGNT) is allowed to get the whole thing tattooed on him! ;;D

Anyway hope you enjoyed my little story and this wonderful artwork that Paul Garner made!

Thanks guys! This is one of my most treasured SK items and it's cool to be able to share it here!
I tried to save the picture to my iPad but could not get it to work (but it's on my desk top and my lap top at least)

Still unsure of this iPad since I've only had it a short time - thanks again!
