Yes! Yes! Yes! I think you'll love The Drawing of the Three!! My personal favorite is Wolves of the Calla. I miss the journey. Enjoy the ride!

I don’t know if I choose to use the word better, but more enjoyable, certainly, juicier - not so dusty and dry, and soo much more fun. If you get to the third or fourth chapter and not finding yourself hooked I’d be surprised.

I say this as someone who absolutely loved The Dark Tower series: with the exception of Wizard and Glass, I don't recall really connecting to any of the books more than the others. To me, the separation of books was only a formality and the world bled through the barriers making them almost indistinguishable. Each book had things that I loved and a few had things I didn't really care for so much but I look back on it as one big book.

I have taken the journey twice. The first time as the books were published so it took about 30 years. The second time was a couple of years ago as I was quitting smoking and it took about a month. I plan to ride the great wheel of Ka yet again when it starts snowing in a few months. It likely will not be my last.

And with each turn of the wheel we learn new things that we overlooked in a previous reading.

I have read these twice and thinking I shall do a re-read again. the first time it was really confusing for me.Enjoyed it ,the second time.
Do take the journey again. It will change you with each reading. You begin to find so much you missed. The feelings will awaken and you become one with the journey. Slow and steady, no need to rush. Savor the journey.

I bet it was killer having to wait for the next one. In that regard, I'm glad I waited until the series was complete to get started, because once I got hooked, I didn't read anything else until I got through them all. I'm still holding The Wind Through the Keyhole on my shelf unread like the last piece of chocolate in the world to be savored when I can't stand it no more.

It was pure agony waiting for the next installment to be published back in the day. Then, we got up to book 4 and Steve was hit by that van and a lot of us thought we wouldn't get to the end of the journey. Thank goodness that Steve pulled through and was able to write the last books. I'm just happy that he survived the accident. I really couldn't have cared if he finished the series as long as he was alive and kicking!
