Hi there, I'm relatively new to the Stephen King universe. I started off reading IT, then proceeded to The Gunslinger, and I'm now onto The Stand.

However.... I remember as a child having a Stephen King book on my book shelf, which I was never allowed to read; from what I remember, it was blue, relatively chunky, and had a gargoyle/statue on a rooftop on the cover. I cannot remember what it was titled, nor can I ask my mother. (It was not "Nightmares in the Sky: Gargoyles and Grotesques") So my question is - does anyone know of what it could possibly be called.

....Welcome!....wish I could be of some help....I have a wide collection of his books-but nothing with that cover-I've reviewed a number of other covers online with no success, it may be foreign issued as well-hundreds of covers have been released and re-released over the years.....hopefully another member here can strike gold for you.....

Could you possibly be thinking of Robert McCammon's Blue World?

Thank you all for your replies! I remember it so vividly being Stephen King, as when I attempted to take it to school to read, it was confiscated. I was then made to write lines stating I wouldn't bring another of his books to school at my age :0:. I really don't remember anything about it other than it being quite a large book, with 'something' (I'm pretty sure it was a gargoyle of somekind) perched overlooking a city/town (almost like someone was looking over its shoulder). I'm sure I'll find it eventually, and there have been some great tips here, which I will look into now. :)

Probably not. That's a tombstone, not a rooftop. And that is btw, one UGLY gargoyle! And sorry. 'Nightmares in the Sky' was right there in the original post! osnafrank & I apparently have the word comprehension skills of dolphins. I'm blaming lead paint. That and vodka.

I blame all of my brain farts on building model cars with the original Testor's glue when I was a kid. Man, I could keep myself quietly entertained for hours working on those things......:icon_eek:
