Happy to hear about the cats, Trish. Nobody wants bald cats. And they would probably be really mad about it.

Bald pissed off cats. Horror movie right there.

I am still not thinking about the movie. Can't
Don't worry about the movie, it's going to be alright. Worse case scenario, the movie sucks, life goes on. Best case scenario, the movie is wonderful, life goes on.

I wish I could be optimistic about the DT movie. But film versions of Mr. King's works don't always pan out. Worst case scenario: the producers and director will realize that the DT is much too richly textured to be filmed in a manner that does it, and its creator, justice. So they do a so-so job. The critics hate. It bombs. And they blame it on the black guy.

Oh don't worry; they will blame it on the Director and the people who wrote the adaptation.

I didn't mean to laugh when I read that, it was an ironic laugh so it wasn't like I thought it was funny. You have a point, seems to be a thing that.
Stephen King is one of the producers on this project so I don't think it will stray too far from his heart's desire. This story is his baby, he's not going to let it grow up ugly if he can help it. I'm going to trust that it's going to be done as well as it can be. Gosh I hate to think of myself as a cheerleader... I'm a nerd.
Here is a link to IMBd for a list of who's doing what

Sadly, being a producer doesn't mean a whole lot of input. What I don't understand is why they didn't hire him to write the screen adaptation.

I think Stephen King is going to have a lot to say about how this gets done. He has final approval over the major characters, and the director respects, and reads King's works, including The Dark Tower Series. King's not some small time scribbler, he's Stephen King. This is his magnum opus. This is probably one of the last big projects he is going to involve himself in. He's not going to let them run roughshod over him on this you can set your watch and warrant on it.

I hope you are right, but color me dubious. Hollywood has never shown author's much respect.

Me too. I think this is probably a BFD to Stephen King. As much as we hate to think of the story being fekked up, I think he would hate it more.
I think he has a group of artists in his camp that appreciate him and understand his work, so let's hope Uncle Steve will be the exception to the "No Respect, Rodney Dangerfield," rule for original story writers.
