I wanted to be called Anna, so I named our first born Anna -she goes by her middle name, so it never caught on.
Then I wanted to be called Elise, so I name our youngest daughter Elise. She goes by Elly.
We named our son Ben - I love Ben Franklin and I had just seen 1776 before he was born.

Now I'm wanting to be called Rainey. It's very close to my given name (Renee). Stormy Rainey Thunder Lightning Girl.

I hate my name. It's not terrible, like I hate Nazis more. But I still hate it.

3 of my kids have changed their names and I've said, "By all means, let me help!" because I don't want them to feel the way I feel about my name the rest of their lives.

As for what I would change it to, I don't know. Something that isn't quite so dang common?

For a long time I hated being called Lois. All the Superman jokes. Some loser in junior high went around telling people I was Supermans mother in law. After that I gave up and started telling the Superman jokes myself. I even said 'like Superman's girlfriend'. Now I love having a unique name. Not everyone can be a Lois.
