Thanks!

Been an avid King reader since middle school. My librarian in sixth knew my family was poor (small town) and used to let me get the throwaways (content not suitable, broken books, etc.) and Gerald's Game was one of my pickups one day, hooked ever since.

I spend most of my free time reading, and after my last move resulted in too many heavy book boxes I switched over to Kindle. Having Kindle unlimited, I buy my must haves, put ten on one kindle, take it offline, return those for another ten on the second Kindle, and exploit the system once more on the third. This enables me to read whether there is wifi or not, and considering I cycle them twice monthly my voracious appetite for reading can be satiated with preapproved (by me) books on hand for quick transitions.

The downside is connecting two out of three will replace my chosen books for that kindle with my last ten purchases, losing books that I just HAD to read into the ether. (Yes, I could find which ones were there, but that takes time that can be better spent ;).

I do have a perfectly good smart phone, but I don't like reading off of it because of its screen size, so it often sits abandoned, all app notifications off, on silent.
That was backstory (and an excuse) for why I'm not often on the internet. So I was pleasantly surprised when I found that there are forums here!

Glad to have found the community however, as my occupation and personal life is mostly comprised of people who don't read for enjoyment.

TL;DR
I'm not good with online interaction, but I try. I really like the idea of being able to talk to people with similar interests for once, as my life contains mostly people who don't read much more than status updates.

I still love "real" books but it's pretty darn great having the complete works of Shakespeare, Twain, Lovecraft, Dickens and many others that I can carry around with me. :D

Agreed, and I have to say that "search" option for specific lines is amazing for hefties like those.

I still love book stores (too much, according to my bank account) and I felt like a sell out when I finally went to Kindle... However, about 5 years ago a large portion of my collection was wiped out during a hurricane. I lost so many favorites.... There's a large amount of comfort and security in knowing that your library can be restored with 60 bucks and a login, lol.
