As a small boy growing up I went to live with my aunt in Maine . There I did the sixth grade , We lived in a hundred year old farm house on 55 acres. I was originally from the Bronx so There was some culture shock involved . Many years later I read Pet Cemetery, and as I read the book My minds eye took me back to that little town in Maine and Neighbors filled the characters in the book and although I never used to read books Pet Cemetery just happened to be the book I happened to read. Finally when the movie comes out It was nothing like the movie in my minds eye . Here's my question Do people who read
books by Steven King see a better movie in their minds eye or the first time they see it in the cinema ?33752

For me, when I read a book, my minds eye see the pictures of Stephen King's works. He is a master at character development and painting a picture of the surrounds, lay of the land.
Movies are adaptations, never the completely same as the book. Some come close, others miss by a mile.
The book holds the key for me. Those are the pictures I savor.
