Really enjoyed this one. Absolutely ended differently than I expected. The fear of such a situation, which is very real and happens in several places around the world every day, is gut-gripping. Especially enjoyed what happened with Heinz. Nice. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

I liked this one a lot. I can't say I was that surprised by the ending but I think I'm a little naive and always expect a happy ending even though King is plenty willing to give you a downer (or at least bittersweet) ending. It seemed like the bad guys were so unlikable that they were being set up for a satisfying revenge. So I figured they were dead meat, the only question was how he'd escape the building because I couldn't see him escaping the room only to be killed/captured outside. How he got out ended up being unimportant, but I was thinking his accomplice would launch his attack and our hero would escape in the chaos.
