Me too but they are a bit expensive - maybe 80 bucks up here (I think?)

I have a small pressure cooker but it's not working properly anymore.

Keep your eye out for sales. Check web sites and if you go into a store that sells them take a look.

We had checked flyers and nobody had them on sale. We went to Canadian Tire looking for something else and found 6 qt IPs on sale. Picked them up as Christmas gifts.

That reminds me, a couple of months ago my mom brought some "special cookies" home without telling me they were special, long story short I ate two of them and had a really crazy night laughing hysterically at The X-Files.
That’s a bit scary - didn’t it say on the package what they were? What if you had eaten too many?

They’re going to legalize pot here in July so thought I should be prepared :eat_pig:

But seriously I thought if edible marijuana is being sold then shouldn’t there be some sort of guidelines in regard to packaging?

I assume if edibles are sellable they would have to follow CFIA labelling guidelines. Which requires all ingredients written in decending order.

Now I'll be looking up CFIA

I saw a documentary on pot recently indicating there had been cases of little kids ending up in Emergency rooms due to attractively packaged pot confections.

Anyway, sorry to derail your thread - what is the latest thing you made in your Instant Pot?

Yesterday 6 hard boiled eggs. Made egg salad sandwiches for baby & I for lunch, then deviled eggs for the other kids after school/work.

Considering attempting a stew again tonight. Unless DS is going to be home...then maybe chicken wings but not in IP.

And derailing threads is a normal part of life on the SKMB. usually circle back around. :)

I made boiled peanuts in the Instant Pot last weekend. Very Tasty.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound raw peanuts
  • 1/3 cup Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
Directions
Combine all ingredients in an Instant Pot. Add water until peanuts are just covered. Place an upside down plate on top of the peanuts to keep them submerged. Place cover on and cook on manual high pressure for 75 minutes for tender but firm peanuts or 90 minutes (recommended) for completely tender peanuts. Allow the pressure to release naturally, about 15 minutes, then serve.

I was just reading on Chatelaine online that the Instant Pot is good for making Mulligatawny soup - - I love this kind of soup

"2. The Low-and-Slow Experiment

Match-up: Instant Pot vs. slow cooker

Test recipe: Chicken mulligatawny soup

Slow cooker
Total time: 8 hours (on low)

Instant Pot
Total time: 4 hours 15 min (on high), 8 hours 15 min (on low)

Assessment: The Instant Pot did well on both its high and low slow cooker settings, yielding delicious soup in almost half the time.

Verdict: Well played, Instant Pot."

Usually when I make pizza, I make enough to feed us all and have leftovers. But for Christmas we were given a pizza stone. Went and bought ourselves a peel.

Now, I want to make pizza with ????

We do not want something in the oven with the pizza, so I thought we could make something in the IP....but I don’t know what. DH thinks some kind of soup or stew. I don’t think that goes with pizza. Any other ideas? With recipes if you have them.
