is the below statement true?

'SALEM'S LOT was reprinted many times in hardcover format and also in similar hardcover formats. originally the price printed on some early 'SALEM'S LOT dust jackets was $8.95, but it was decided in house (at Doubleday) that the price should be reduced to $7.95. However, this $7.95 dust jacket had an error on it with the reference to "Father Cody" instead of what should have been "Father Callahan." Then there was a 3rd state dust jacket with $7.95 and with "Father Callahan." There are reportedly only a handful of the $8.95 dust jackets exist. By default, the 2nd state dust jacket with "Father Cody" has become the only attainable dust jacket.

True. But the very first $8.95 dj also had the Father Cody error. There have been some later printings with the $8.95 price printed that have the corrected Father Callahan on them.

A true statement would be that the 2nd state is the first edition with a print run of 20,000 copies. The first state dust jackets were found years later in a drawer at the Doubleday offices and then found their way to private collections. I believe there are less than 10 that exist. The 3rd state dust jackets were corrected and an additional 7,500 copies were printed. You could call the 1st state a proof.
