Is having a second first name very common in general?

My second name is the same as my father's first. My nephew has a first, second and third name before his surname. In his case, his second name is the same as mine and my father's first (sorry to make it sound like a riddle :biggrin2:).
I only know one person without a second name, tbh, and I remember thinking his parents were weird when he first told me. :D

In the military if we came across a person with only one name we always put ONO [stands for one name only] after their name. So essentially all these people were suddenly named after John Lennon's wife!

Wow - I've never seen such colours in a tartan before!

If and when we go to Scotland again (Andy wants to go back for a visit) just tell me the name I am looking for and I can probably find you something similar.

When we were in Edinburgh they had a shop devoted to all the clans and that is where we got the Murray clan souvenirs (shot glasses etc.)
Oh Neesy, that is so nice of you! I had made plans a few years ago to visit a dear friend in Scotland, but it never worked out......so your offer really means a lot to me, even if you never go back. Thank you for your kindness. :love_heart:

Oh, our family name is Taylor, we are a sept of Clan Cameron :cheerful:

That's hilarious!
We called a lot of people "Snodgrass"...... it wasn't their name, and I don't even know where it came from. It wasn't used in an insulting way, just more like,
'Hey Snodgrass, where ya been?'

I actually know a few people with the last name Snodgrass. For real. Dick Snodgrass. I'm not making that up.
