Dan Torrance takes money from a purse of young woman and leaves a little boy (although and with bruises) in embraces of his sleeping mother. Such Dan Torrance's actions mean for SK "to fall on deep bottom". So I have thought... maybe SK is an angel? :umm:

Nope. Just a kind man who sees people for what they honestly are and dreams of what they can be.

I thought the deep bottom was the fact when a little boy needed help from being abused and beaten by a relative, Dan abandon the responsibility and discovered latter that the boy’s uncle smashed the boys head in. By some mystic universal contract, Dan should have helped save the boy from that fate of being beaten to death by a relative; because, when he (Dan) was a child, Halloran did what he could to save Dan from the fate of being beaten to death by his father.

This explanation makes the whole thing make more sense to me. Thank you.

Not sure of the 'deep bottom' reference, thought the thorn for Dan was leaving the bruised baby in that situation and stealing money from the mom that could make the babys life better. Realistically, what could he have done? The babys mama was a one night stand so they didn't have much of a relationship; he didn't even know of its existance. He could have involved himself more but he needed to get himself straightened out first. First things first, but that situation did haunt him; not an angel, very human indeed.

He could have called the cops or children's services. Instead, he did NOTHING!

Whether we always call the cops when we see a baby with bruises? We can say few words to his parents...But more often than not we merely are silent.
