Or Cujo himself?
Since I just read a post by someone who didn't want to give away the ending away I thought I shouldn't either, but I think you know who I mean.

In the movie version of The Dark Tower, there are numerous Easter Eggs. One is "Cujo" , or at least a St. Bernard who looks like him, being a walked down the street by a woman who resembles Donna Trenton, and a small boy (who is barely visible) who appears to be Tad.

Before the movie came out SK was quoted as saying that Cujo shows up in the movie. The "reference" looks as though it may be there to merely remind viewers of Cujo. But King actually calls the dog that. It can't be the same Cujo (or Donna or Tad) as in the novel since it took place back in the eighties. But then, in the world or movie, just who were this similar people?

The Dark Tower also has a different Jake, because the Jake from the book lived back in the seventies, and the movie takes place in the cell phone age. Not to mention that this Jake is older, and a don't recall there was ever any mention of SK's Jake having powers or being a breaker.

I do recall though, that at the end of the "final" DT novel, the spirits of Roland's Ka-Tet merge with likenesses of themselves in an alternate New York. Oy was now a small dog (making him a different, though similar species). Jake's last name was now Torrin. Jake Chambers died in Keystone earth, which supposedly meant he couldn't comeback in another world as he'd done before. What did happened was stranger, though. Did this other version of Jake exist already? And most importantly was, or to what degree, were the two Jakes the same? Is it safe to say that Jake was brought back yet again? Or was it, since the Ka-Tet might not have had memories of their previous lives. Maybe it's another Jake, but so similar it's essentially a reincarnation of the kid who flung himself in front of the van. If so, he might well be considered the same as this:

Expy - TV Tropes

Which brings me back to the Tadder. Was that an alternate version of him walking down the street in another New York? If not, then who was it? Perhaps the same thing happened to Tad as happened to Jake.

Friends, watch the movie! While it wasn't a true telling of our favorite epic- it was a different walk about with our friends. It made me happy. I was so into the story I couldn't keep up with all the Easter eggs. I should watch again. to OP - I didn't catch Cujo, but that doesn't mean a thing except that I couldn't keep up.

Yes, the movie has a different Midworld, a different Roland, Jake, etc. But it's still a good story.

"The Cujo seen in the movie may be from a different universe than the one from the Cujo film/book. One where Cujo didn't belong to the drunk and didn't catch rabies but was the same dog."

Probably correct, which means that in this universe Tad lived as well. Since the name of Jake's twinner was slightly different, then Tad might have had a slightly different name as well, such as, for example, Tad Tucker.

Maybe if they get a part two off the ground maybe Bobby Garfield or Ted Brautigan will show up from Hearts in Atlantis.

I haven't seen the movie either so I might have this wrong but I'd assume that these were slightly skewed versions of the same characters - maybe basic archetypes in different stories or realities. In The Dark Tower, certain characters returned after death in different realities but they were still the same basic archetypes in different circumstances (I'm purposely keeping this vague to avoid spoilers). The movie was probably insinuating that the same happens for all of King's creations. I can appreciate that people are enjoying the film under that premise. But I probably won't be watching it anytime soon simply because in using the name The Dark Tower, the film asserts itself as a definitive representation of the source material. If they had called it something like In the Echo of the Dark Tower or In the Shadow of the Dark Tower, something that created a bit of space between itself and the source material we love, I'd be more open to all of the changes. For example, Castle Rock can go wild as far as I'm concerned because it's not marketed as a direct representation of its inspiration. I can enjoy that more easily.
