I'm not sure if it has been published but I read in The Encyclopeadia of Science Fiction by John Clute and Peter Nicholls that King wrote this when he was 16 and it was his first novel submission and a Donald A. Wolfheim said something but I wondered is this only accessible at the University of Maine.

There are a number of his works that are not available to the public because that's Stephen's choice mostly because he thinks the writing is amateurish and not worthy of being published.
