I got the wife an authentic signed copy (if Ms Mod is to be believed ;):)) of TGWLTG when Stephen King was raising money for the Haven Foundation. She has been a fan of his writings for over 30 years. Her attitude of the signed book was ' meh' since she already had the novel. She said she always felt his stories reached her personally and she would love to have a personalized signed book to her to match the personal connection she gets from his novels. Makes sense. The book has been sitting in a drawer somewhere collecting dust ever since.
What an awesome gift! Yes, the stories are what feeds us most definitely! I have always wanted just one signed copy of Stephen King's works, but that's because I try an obtain (whether in person or by purchase) my favorite artist's signatures. Tim Armstrong from Rancid, Highly Suspect and of course my favorite, Stephen King. I just had an uneasy feeling about this book because I paid too much for it and I don't think it's real - the signature is too small. I do like the way your wife thinks, though! And awesome about the Haven Foundation auction! A good cause always makes the purchase so much better!

Thank you guys for all of the responses! Ms. Moderator, you are so very nice!! I did a bit more research and this signature doesn't appear to be real; the signature is less than the size of a quarter and I was told that was a dead giveaway. Oh well, maybe I'll be lucky enough to meet him one day on trip 3 to Bangor! LOL A personalized signed copy would be amazing!

Have you tried Betts Bookstore? I believe everything there is authentic.
