None whatsoever. The producers are not even going to put the second film into production until they see how well the first does. Which is, I'm guessing, why they opted for an early September release, so the film doesn't get lost in the shuffle of all the major tent-pole summer releases.

Thanks, so I guess I was confused. This will not be a back and forth between them like the book (and miniseries?) oh no. That's too bad.

Nope, the producers have a two film deal for this adaptation. The second one deals with the adults, which is why we haven't even been hearing casting rumours. Nothing's happening until they see how well the first does, so we need to support this in theatres!!!

I just hope Pennywise is truly as nasty and despicable as he is in the novel. I want to see him butchering kids and chewing on victims' armpits and everything. I'm tired of cinematic monsters being sympathetic. I want a return to full-on, no-holds-barred EVIL that will make people flee the cinemas and rush to social media to wallow in their self-righteous indignation.

Even though it was undermined by the Grimm's fairy tale ending (no doubt tacked on by the studio), I have a lot of love for Mama. Don't let me down, Andres Muschietti.

they better not pull out of the deal. they can't give us half the story and stop. or we'll have to bust out the pitchforks and torches

as someone who is intimately familiar with the source material, and knows pretty much everything and exactly when, what, where and who, these guys stumbling through and kind of guessing at things made me cringe a lot lol. still not a bad breakdown though. if this movie is half as good as this trailer we're golden. the music, the shots, the imagery, the acting, the makeup . . . .i was anticipating this movie already, now i'm down right thrilled and excited and just can't wait until september.

That's a good analysis in terms of the chosen release date. If the film doesn't succeed, perhaps a streaming service could pick up the second part as a film (or series).

It seems like they kept comparing it to the miniseries instead of the book. The guy on the right admits to forgetting major details of the novel. I'm excited, too.
