Oh, Marsha, I'm sorry about that. I bet Steve is taking it hard as he and Dallas were friends. Didn't Steve have Dallas at the ceremony when he received his 2003 National Book Foundation Medal?

Yes, Dallas was one of his guests there. I got to know him at NECONs and through working with him in connection with Steve. He was a great guy.

I've known him from NECON and other conferences over the years. I remember driving him around Austin in search of scotch at a World Horror Convention! My wife and I had a great time talking with him at dinner before the Harry, Carrie and Garp event, too.
